You can use two common approaches:  traditional and delayed signal technique

-  Either approach to calling strikes is fine.

-  Using the traditional technique, you'll shout "strike" and use the hand/arm "hammer" signal at the same time.

-  With the delayed technique, you'll verbally call "strike" and then follow with the "hammer" signal.
